Creating Content
Creating content is often times the most neglected part of any web property and this is the equivalent of seo "suicide." Google has used the term, "content is king" and yet most companies neglect the importance of it.
First off lets talk about the seo factor. Creating rich, unique content naturally embeds keywords into your site. More naturally placed keywords, more helpful for Google robots to understand what you do and therefore potentially give you a better spot in the rankings.
Time and time again, we see websites with 3-4 sentences on a page and during our consultations we are asked, "why does my competitor out rank me?"
Our answer and the answer of any reputable firm will always be to first educate. The question we ask in response to that is the source of the problem which is, "how much content does your competitor have?" When Google see's a website that has over 750 words of relevant, fresh, unique, content their algorithms gravitate towards it as more of an authority. You see, here is a fact; Google doesn't care about promoters, they care about their visitors and their visitor's experience.
They are a search engine and their goal will always be to provide the search user with the most relevant results. If one website says "we are the best dentists..." and goes on to talk about dentistry for 4-5 sentences, and another dental website has much more content, Google will deem the later as more relevant and therefore give them a higher ranking. That's the over simplified answer.
